Community Affairs

Community Affairs

TransUnion supports community organisations around the world that align with our goals to help individuals achieve their goals. We strive to provide a positive influence in the communities where we work and live.

In South Africa, we focus on three areas:

Education

Through our Consumer Education initiative, we aim to help South Africans make more informed credit decisions, thereby encouraging responsible debt management. We run workshops with schools, communities and government associations. In addition, we collaborate with the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) to develop material for the Mathematics Literacy curriculum in grades 10 and 11.

Health

We support several charity organisations in their HIV AIDS programs. For our employees and their families, our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provides support for their well-being.

Charity Involvement

Currently we support the Immaculata Home (a shelter for homeless people in Rosebank) and Oliver’s House (a day care facility for children from impoverished areas on the East Rand). For the last ten years our credit bureau has supported the Nka-Thuto Primary School in Soweto with volunteered time and financial and in-kind contributions.
